The 113km course encompasses the best of the region – the crystal clear sea, iconic Italian countryside and areas rich in culture and history such as the ancient Roman city at the archaeological site of Egnazia. An extreme challenge with three disciplines along breathtaking routes, always in contact with nature. The swimming fraction – 1.9 km – takes place in the Adriatic Sea off the coast of Savelletri; it will be followed by the cycling fraction – 90 km – which starts from the coast and arrives in the hinterland, with its characteristic trulli. The last fraction, the run – 21 km – goes through the countryside to return all the way back to the seashore at Cala Masciola, Borgo Egnazia’s private beach.
